Jonathan Mark is the City of Vancouver's GIS Manager and is in the Information Technology Department in the Financial Services Group. He has been in that position since 1990. In this role, he and his Team are responsible for the City's corporate GIS infrastructure (core software, hardware, and databases) as well as the implementation of VanMap for both staff and the public. The Team is also very involved in the City's Open Data initiative. onathan has spoken at many GIS conferences including URISA BC, URISA International, Autodesk University, and GeoTec. Prior to joining the City in 1984, Jonathan taught in the Urban Land Economics Division of the Faculty of Commerce at UBC.
