Building the City of Vancouver's Open Data GIS Platform

Meng Li is the City of Vancouver’s GIS Applications Manager in the GIS and CADD Services Branch. He has been the City’s VanMap technical architect and the technical lead for the City’s Open Data GIS platform. His more than 10-year work experience with the City covers Web-GIS application development, geospatial database (e.g. Oracle Spatial) design and development, spatial analysis and new-geography of the GeoWeb. Prior to joining the City, Meng had worked as a research fellow with the Australia National Key Centre for Social Applications of GIS in University of Adelaide for two years and he got his Ph.D. in Geography from Gent University of Belgium.
