Moving GIS Into the enterprise
May 22, 2003
8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Ramada
Plaza Conference Resort
10251 St. Edwards Drive
Richmond, B.C.
Thank you to all of you who attended the Moving GIS into
the Enterprise event. We had a great turnout to this event. We appreciate
your support in our endeavours to promote GIS knowledge through this type
of seminar.
The purpose of the seminar was to explore how GIS applications are playing
a role in both business and local government. This seminar explored the
various aspects of integrating GIS into a corporation. Issues such as
organizational structures, data models, software solutions, the usability
of spatial applications and controlling digital data formats were presented
in the morning. In the afternoon, a discussion panel of experienced processionals
in the field of integration debated the hardware, software and people
issues surrounding enterprise GIS.
By the resounding feedback we have received so far this
event was successful in its purpose. We hope you gained some useful insight
into what other users are doing with GIS and that you derived some value
from attending, which you can in turn utilize in your workplace.
Thank you also to our Presenters and Sponsors. Events like this are successful
because of all of you. We hope this event was as beneficial to you as
it was to the attendants. Our Sponsor Logos, which have links to their
website, will be left up on our site for the next two weeks. Please utilize
these links to find out more about our sponsors for this event.
The presentations from the event have been added to this page for your
future reference.
We also thank the Ramada for their excellent service and support throughout
the day. Thank you to all who helped us make this event as successful
as it was.
We look forward to seeing you at our future events.
