On February 13, 2006, the British Columbia Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA BC) hosted a one day seminar entitled:

GIS and Asset Management

Date: February 13, 2006
Time: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
Location: Hilton Vancouver Metrotown 6083 MacKay Avenue, Burnaby, BC

The speakers represented local municipalities as well as vendors and consultants who work with local municipalities. Chuck Hansen kicked off the formal presentations with an overview of asset management drawing on Hansen Technologies’ broad experience in the area. The next two speakers focussed on data issues related to asset management. Data requirements are significant for asset management endeavours and these speakers gave some insights into their experience in collecting and processing the data. The last two speakers before lunch focussed on actual experiences with asset management at the City of Vancouver and the Township of Langley.
