On February 20, 2014, the British Columbia Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA BC) hosted a one day seminar entitled:

Web Map and Apps

Date: February 20, 2014
Time: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Location: Hilton Vancouver Metrotown 6083 MacKay Avenue, Burnaby, BC

This was a day of discussion and learning about the ever changing environment of web-based mapping.  Throughout the years, this technology has become simpler to implement leaving us with lots of important decisions such as:

  • Should we create specific apps or one large map?
  • Which platform should we design on: Silverlight, Java, HTML5?
  • Where is the technology going and how do we plan for the future?
